  • Author: Hugo
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Turkey Cranberry Sliders are a perfect combination of savory turkey, tangy cranberry sauce, and melted Swiss cheese layered on sweet Hawaiian rolls. Easy to prepare and baked until golden and bubbly, they make a delicious appetizer or a cozy meal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Base

  • 1 package Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (12 count)

Filling

  • 2 cups diced turkey
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce or relish
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)

Butter Topping

  • 6 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp dried minced onion
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Garnish

  • Parmesan cheese
  • Dried parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it ready for baking the sliders.
  2. Prepare Baking Pan: Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with aluminum foil and spray it with cooking spray for easy cleanup and to prevent sticking.
  3. Prepare Rolls: Remove the Hawaiian rolls from the package in one intact slab.
  4. Slice Rolls: Cut the entire slab of rolls in half lengthwise, creating a top half and a bottom half.
  5. Layer Bottom Slab: Place the bottom slab of rolls into the prepared baking pan.
  6. Add Filling: Spread the diced turkey evenly over the bottom rolls. Then layer with cranberry sauce (warm it slightly if too thick for spreading) and add the slices of Swiss cheese on top.
  7. Top Slab: Place the top slab of rolls over the layered filling gently pressing down to compact the sliders.
  8. Make Butter Mixture: Melt the butter in the microwave, then whisk in yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, dried minced onion, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  9. Apply Butter Mixture: Pour the butter mixture evenly over the top of the assembled rolls to add flavor and moisture.
  10. Rest Covered: Cover the pan tightly with foil and let the sliders sit for 5 to 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  11. Bake Covered: Bake the foil-covered sliders in the oven for 20 minutes to heat through and melt the cheese.
  12. Bake Uncovered: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes to crisp the tops slightly.
  13. Optional Garnish: Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and dried parsley if desired for extra flavor and presentation.
  14. Serve: Slice the sliders into individual portions and serve warm, perfect for parties or a comforting snack.

Notes

  • Warm the cranberry sauce briefly in the microwave if it is too thick to spread easily.
  • Use your preferred type of cheese if you want a different flavor profile; cheddar or provolone work well.
  • Leftover sliders can be reheated in the oven wrapped in foil to maintain moisture.
  • For a gluten-free option, substitute Hawaiian rolls with gluten-free slider buns.
  • Adding a pinch of dried thyme or rosemary to the butter mixture can add extra herbal notes.
