- 1 sweet potato
Instructions
- Oven Preparation: Preheat your oven to 250˚F (120˚C) and thoroughly wash the sweet potato. Slice it at least ½ cm thick and arrange the slices in a single layer on a silicone mat or parchment paper on baking sheets.
- Baking: Bake the sweet potato slices for 2½ to 3 hours, flipping them halfway through. Begin checking at the 2-hour mark and then every 15 minutes until they reach your desired crispness.
- Cooling and Storage: Allow the baked sweet potato treats to cool completely, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Food Dehydrator Preparation: Wash and slice the sweet potato into ½ cm thick pieces. Lay the slices in a single layer on the dehydrator racks.
- Dehydrating: Set the food dehydrator to 135˚F (57˚C) and dry the slices for 6 to 7 hours, depending on your preferred dryness level.
- Storage: Once dried, store the sweet potato treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- Air Fryer Preparation: Wash and slice the sweet potato to ½ cm thickness. Place the slices on the air fryer rack in a single layer, avoiding overcrowding as much as possible.
- Dehydrating in Air Fryer: Set the air fryer temperature to 135˚F (57˚C) and dry the slices for 5 to 6 hours, checking at the 5-hour mark to assess dryness.
- Storage: After drying, store the air-fried sweet potato treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
- Ensure slices are evenly spaced in a single layer for even cooking or dehydration.
- Thickness of slices affects drying time—thicker slices will take longer.
- Check periodically during cooking or dehydrating to avoid over-drying or burning.
