Ingredients
Scale
Vegetables
- 12 oz Broccoli Florets, cut into bite-size pieces
- Sesame Seeds, for garnish
- Green Onion, for garnish
Protein
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (97/3 lean to fat ratio)
Sauces and Oils
- 1/4 C (60g) Sweet Chili Sauce
- 2 Tbsp (42g) Honey
- 2–3 Tbsp (30-45g) Sriracha, adjust to spice preference
- 2 Tbsp (30g) Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp (16g) Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp (16g) Olive Oil, divided
Spices
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Ginger
- 1/2 Tbsp Olive Oil (additional, part of the divided olive oil for cooking broccoli)
Instructions
- Cook Broccoli: Heat half of the olive oil (1/2 Tbsp) in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and leave them undisturbed for 1-2 minutes to get a nice browning on one side. Stir and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the broccoli turns a deep green. Remove broccoli from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
- Brown the Chicken: Add the remaining olive oil (1/2 Tbsp) to the skillet. Add the ground chicken and brown it evenly on both sides. Once browned, break the chicken apart with a spatula or wooden spoon and continue cooking until fully cooked through.
- Prepare and Add Sauce: While the chicken cooks, mix together the sweet chili sauce, honey, sriracha, soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, garlic powder, and ground ginger in a bowl. Pour this sauce mixture into the cooked chicken in the skillet. Cook the mixture while stirring until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken well. Take care to avoid burning the sauce.
- Combine and Garnish: Once the sauce is thick, add the cooked broccoli back into the skillet. Toss everything together until the broccoli is evenly coated with the sauce and warmed through. Serve garnished with sesame seeds and sliced green onions for a fresh, nutty finish.
Notes
