Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Base

  • ½ cup (1 stick / 113g) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup (250g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (240g) powdered sugar, sifted

White Chocolate Topping

  • 1 cup (170g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 tbsp heavy cream (or 1 tsp coconut oil for smooth melting)

Decorations

  • Crushed candy canes (about 3–4 candy canes)
  • Red and green holiday sprinkles
  • Optional: mini peanut butter cups for serving

Instructions

  1. Melting butter and peanut butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and creamy peanut butter together over low heat, stirring continuously until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  2. Adding vanilla extract: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract to infuse the mixture with a rich vanilla flavor.
  3. Incorporating powdered sugar: Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar to the mixture, stirring thoroughly until a thick, smooth, and dough-like consistency forms.
  4. Preparing the pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow easy removal of the fudge later.
  5. Pressing fudge mixture: Evenly press the peanut butter fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing out the surface with a spatula for an even layer.
  6. Chilling the fudge base: Place the pan in the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes to allow the fudge to firm up.
  7. Melting white chocolate topping: Melt white chocolate chips with heavy cream (or coconut oil) in the microwave using 20-second bursts, stirring in between until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  8. Applying the topping: Spread or drizzle the melted white chocolate evenly over the chilled fudge layer.
  9. Adding festive decorations: Immediately sprinkle crushed candy canes and red and green holiday sprinkles over the white chocolate layer to create a festive appearance.
  10. Final chilling: Return the fudge to the refrigerator and chill for 1 to 2 hours or until the white chocolate topping is fully set.
  11. Slicing and serving: Lift the fudge slab from the pan using the parchment paper, slice into squares, and optionally serve with mini peanut butter cups on the side.

Notes

  • Use creamy peanut butter for the smoothest texture.
  • Ensure powdered sugar is sifted to avoid lumps in the fudge mixture.
  • Substitute heavy cream with coconut oil for a dairy-free alternative in the chocolate topping.
  • Press the fudge firmly into the pan to help it hold shape when sliced.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • For an extra festive touch, add chopped nuts like peanuts or holiday-themed candy pieces inside the fudge base.
