Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade blend)
- ¼ cup water
Filling
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup nacho cheese sauce
- ¼ cup chipotle sauce
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Wrap and Cooking
- 4 large flour tortillas
- Butter or oil for grilling (optional, for skillet)
Instructions
- Cook the Beef (8–10 mins): In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease, then add the taco seasoning and ¼ cup water. Stir well and let it simmer for 5 minutes to develop flavors.
- Warm the Tortillas: Heat the flour tortillas on a dry skillet or briefly in the microwave to make them flexible and easier to roll without tearing.
- Assemble the Burrito (5 mins): Lay a warm tortilla flat on a clean surface. Layer with ¼ cup cooked white rice, a generous scoop of the seasoned beef, followed by nacho cheese sauce, chipotle sauce, and sour cream. Sprinkle with a mix of shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.
- Grill the Burrito (3–4 mins per side): Preheat a clean skillet over medium heat. Sprinkle about 2 tablespoons of shredded cheese onto the skillet to create a crispy cheese crust. Place the burrito seam-side down on top of the melting cheese and grill until the cheese underneath melts and forms a crispy golden crust. Carefully flip the burrito and repeat on the other side for another 3 to 4 minutes until the outside is crispy and the cheese inside is melted.
Notes
- Use homemade taco seasoning for a fresher, customizable flavor.
- If you prefer, butter the tortillas lightly before grilling for extra crispiness.
- Adjust chipotle sauce amount to control spiciness.
- Ensure the skillet is not too hot to prevent burning the cheese crust.
- Serve with salsa or guacamole for extra flavor.
