Scale
Pasta
- 12 oz linguine pasta
Shrimp and Sauce
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- ½ cup dry white wine or chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Cook linguine: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
- Cook shrimp: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes: Using the same skillet, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Deglaze with wine or broth: Pour in the dry white wine or chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Let it simmer for 2 to 3 minutes to reduce slightly and concentrate the flavors.
- Add cream and thicken sauce: Stir in the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Continue cooking for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce has slightly thickened.
- Incorporate cheese and lemon: Add the grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted into the sauce. Then mix in the fresh lemon juice to add brightness.
- Return shrimp to skillet: Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet and toss them in the creamy sauce to coat thoroughly.
- Toss with pasta: Add the cooked linguine to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with the shrimp and sauce.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the dish and serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
