Description

This Creamy Greek Chicken Flatbread recipe combines tender, marinated chicken breasts with fresh Mediterranean flavors like tzatziki, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, and crumbled feta cheese, all layered on warm flatbreads or naan. Perfect for a quick, flavorful lunch or dinner, this dish offers a refreshing and satisfying meal with vibrant, creamy textures and herbaceous notes.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken Marinade

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts, sliced thin
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Flatbread Toppings

  • 2 soft flatbreads or naan
  • ½ cup creamy tzatziki
  • ½ cup diced cucumbers
  • ½ cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
  • ⅓ cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh dill or parsley

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the sliced chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, dried oregano, smoked paprika, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Toss well to coat and let the chicken marinate for 15–30 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Cook the Chicken: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken slices and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side until the chicken is golden brown and fully cooked through. Remove the skillet from heat.
  3. Warm the Flatbreads: Warm the flatbreads or naan in a dry skillet over low heat or in the microwave until they are soft and pliable for easy layering.
  4. Assemble the Flatbreads: Spread about ¼ cup creamy tzatziki evenly over each flatbread. Layer on the cooked chicken, diced cucumbers, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced red onions, and crumbled feta cheese evenly over the tzatziki base.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle fresh chopped dill or parsley over the assembled flatbreads. Slice into portions and serve immediately for a fresh and flavorful meal.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken thighs for a juicier option if desired.
  • For added heat, sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes on top before serving.
  • To make this recipe gluten-free, use gluten-free flatbreads or wraps.
  • Leftover chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and used in salads or wraps.
  • Fresh dill adds the most authentic flavor, but parsley is a suitable substitute.
