Description
Delicious and easy-to-make Air Fryer Crab Stuffed Mushrooms featuring tender mushrooms filled with a savory blend of lump crab meat, Parmesan cheese, and spices, cooked to perfection in the air fryer for a crispy golden top and tender texture.
Ingredients
Scale
Mushrooms
- 16 ounces large mushrooms
Stuffing
- 16 ounces lump crab meat
- 3 green onions, chopped finely
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese
- 2 teaspoons dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
- Clean the mushrooms: Wipe the mushrooms with a damp paper towel. Snap off the stems and optionally remove some or all of the inside gills using a spoon, though the gills are edible if left in place.
- Prepare the stuffing: In a medium bowl, combine lump crab meat, chopped green onions, mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, dried parsley, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to create a uniform stuffing mixture.
- Stuff the mushrooms: Evenly fill each mushroom cap with the crab stuffing, ensuring a generous and uniform portion.
- Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 380°F (193°C) and allow it to come to temperature.
- Prepare air fryer basket: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or line it with foil to prevent sticking.
- Arrange mushrooms in air fryer: Place the stuffed mushrooms in a single layer in the basket without overlapping. Cook in batches if necessary depending on your air fryer’s capacity.
- Cook mushrooms in air fryer: Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes or until the stuffing begins to brown and the mushrooms become tender.
- Preheat the oven: Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prepare baking pan: Lightly spray a large baking pan with cooking spray.
- Bake the mushrooms: Transfer the air-fried stuffed mushrooms to the baking pan in a single layer. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes until mushrooms are tender and the stuffing is heated through. Baking time may vary slightly depending on mushroom size.
Notes
- For best texture, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if needed.
- Removing mushroom gills is optional; however, removing them may reduce moisture inside the mushroom caps.
- You can substitute mayonnaise with Greek yogurt for a lighter option, though it may alter the flavor slightly.
- Adjust seasoning according to taste, especially the salt and smoked paprika for preferred heat and smokiness.
- Make sure mushrooms are uniform in size for consistent cooking results.
